The Singapore Green Hotel Award, which is presented once every two years, was first launched in 2009 and additionally serves as an encouragement for the industry to embrace an eco-friendly environment for guests and employees.The award recognises the green initiatives implemented by hotels in Singapore.
Pan Pacific Singapore’s eco-friendly initiatives include Soap for Hope, a soap recycling project involving the collection and donation of unfinished soap bars, reprocessing and sterilising them and donating them to rural areas and communities in South-East Asia. The hotel also has in place a programme to feature environmentally friendly amenities, as well as initiatives to conserve resources by offering guests the option not to refresh their towels or bedlinen daily, amongst several other efforts.
"We are always conscious of our place in the community, and we strive to make an impact by making choices that improves the environment we do business in. Being eco-friendly is just one of the ways we make our contribution to society, in addition to other CSR activities,” said Gino Tan, General Manager of Pan Pacific Singapore.
